Luis Mojica is a singer-songwriter. His empathic songs tend to explore themes of androgyny, trauma, nature, and healing.
His debut studio album, titled Wholesome, was released in July 2016 & sold out of the limited pressing in the first year after going on tour with the avant-garde cello ensemble Rasputina.
His upcoming album, Songs from the Land, is his third full length release, following the 2019 David Baron- and Simone Felice-produced "How a Stranger Is Made". On this record, the gifted pianist stands up from the keyboard and cedes control of the instrumental dimension almost entirely to producer and multi-instrumentalist Evan Glenn Adams.
For seekers and fans of the "freak folk" tradition, Songs from the Land is a natural. As a cycle of progressive acoustic folk songs and a provocatively personal exploration of the dynamic of oppression and liberation, the record has appeal far beyond those audiences.
Luis lives with his wife & daughter in the mountains of upstate NY. He composes and records his music there & runs a holistic therapy practice called Holistic Life Navigation.
