Anaesthesia (2013)

Anaesthesia was self-released on November 20th 2013. This ambitious debut record is a home recorded song-cycle that tells the story of Luis being initiated into the spirit world via anesthesia during top surgery. The record's main theme is the contemplation of resurrecting the matriarch and deconstructing patriarchal patterns in his own lineage and world. 

Using Baroque, Classical, Pop, R&B, and unexplored genres Luis draws from many styles to tell the complicated tale of gender, spirit, and Earth revival that is Anaesthesia. Using an electric keyboard, a myriad of digital samples, and a wide vocal range he creates choral harmonies coupled with intricate piano compositions and orchestral accompaniments. The result is a deep sonic tapestry that is woven with many threads from the hand of only one man.

With limited resources, the record was recorded, mixed, performed, and produced by Luis and mastered at Magnetic North Studios in New York. The record plays like a live theater piece and serves as an official demo in hopes of, one day, making it to the stage.
